Pippa Samsworth is the winner of the 2021 Gardiner Museum Prize, presented to a graduate from the Ceramics program at Sheridan College. Her work is inspired by memories made while growing up on the water’s edge of Lake Ontario. This display features a series of platters that capture quiet moments spent in and around Tannery Park.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pippa Samsworth grew up in Oakville near the shore of Lake Ontario and Tannery Park. After discovering her love for clay at Crack Pot Studio with Cathleen Nicholson in 2017, Pippa studied Craft and Design at Sheridan College. She was the recipient of the FUSION Technical Achievement Award and the 2021 Gardiner Prize. Pippa is now working as a potter with Dawn Middleton at the Ye11ow Studio in Picton, Prince Edward County.
