Petrichor is a series of wheel-thrown ceramic vessels by Toronto-based artist Queenie Xu that embodies the fleeting moment where the human body and nature blur. Hand-altered forms twist like muscle and bone, their surfaces etched with tattoo-like lines that follow the curves of their bodies. Inspired by the body’s resilience and nature’s quiet persistence, Petrichor asks: “What does it mean to be a vessel—for memory, for decay, for new life?” – Queenie Xu
Each artwork is hand crafted and will slightly vary in weight, size, colour, and style.
